Jemaine Atea Mahana Clement\u00a0(born 10 January 1974)\u00a0is a New Zealand\u00a0actor,\u00a0comedian,\u00a0musician, and\u00a0filmmaker. He has released several albums with\u00a0Bret McKenzie\u00a0as the musical comedy duo\u00a0Flight of the Conchords and created a comedy TV series titled\u00a0Flight of the Conchords\u00a0for both the\u00a0BBC\u00a0and\u00a0HBO, for which he received six\u00a0Primetime Emmy nominations.<\/p>\n
He has had featured parts in films such as\u00a0Eagle vs Shark\u00a0(2007),\u00a0Gentlemen Broncos\u00a0(2009),\u00a0Men in Black 3\u00a0(2012),\u00a0People Places Things(2015),\u00a0Humor Me\u00a0(2017),\u00a0The Festival\u00a0(2018) and\u00a0Avatar: The Way of Water\u00a0(2022). He has also done voice work for\u00a0Despicable Me\u00a0(2010),\u00a0Rio\u00a0(2011), Rio 2\u00a0(2014),\u00a0Moana\u00a0(2016) and\u00a0The Lego Batman Movie\u00a0(2017). In 2014, he made his directorial debut with\u00a0What We Do in the Shadows, which he co-wrote, co-directed and co-starred in with\u00a0Taika Waititi and later adapted into a show for the FX television series\u00a0What We Do in the Shadows.<\/p>\n
