Jon Spaihts\u00a0(\/spe\u026ats\/)\u00a0(born February 4, 1970) is an American screenwriter and author. He is best known for co-writing\u00a0Denis Villeneuve’s\u00a0Dune\u00a0(2021) and its sequel\u00a0Dune: Part Two\u00a0(2024), both films based on\u00a0the novel of the same name\u00a0by\u00a0Frank Herbert. He also wrote the screenplays for the films\u00a0Prometheus\u00a0(2012),\u00a0Passengers (2016) and\u00a0Doctor Strange\u00a0(2016). For his work on\u00a0Dune, Spaihts was nominated for the\u00a0Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.<\/p>\n
