Dan Trachtenberg\u00a0(born May 11, 1981) is an American filmmaker and\u00a0podcast\u00a0host.<\/p>\n
He is best known for directing the films\u00a010 Cloverfield Lane\u00a0(2016) and\u00a0Prey\u00a0(2022),\u00a0the former earning him a\u00a0Directors Guild of America Award\u00a0nomination for\u00a0Outstanding Directing \u2013 First-Time Feature Film. For television, he directed the pilot episodes of\u00a0The Boys\u00a0(2019) and\u00a0The Lost Symbol\u00a0(2021), the latter of which he also served as an executive producer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Trachtenberg was one of three hosts of\u00a0The Totally Rad Show\u00a0podcast and a former co-host of the\u00a0Geekdrome\u00a0podcast. He also directed episodes for the\u00a0Ctrl+Alt+Chicken podcast, all hosted at\u00a0Revision3. He directed the 2011 short film\u00a0Portal: No Escape, an episode of\u00a0Black Mirror\u00a0entitled “Playtest,” and various television commercials and public service announcements.<\/p>\n
