Ke Huy Quan\u00a0(\/\u02ccki\u02d0.hwi\u02d0.\u02c8kw\u0251\u02d0n\/\u00a0KEE-hwee-KWAHN;\u00a0Vietnamese:\u00a0Quan K\u1ebf Huy; born August 20, 1971), also known as\u00a0Jonathan Ke Quan, is an American actor.\u00a0His accolades include a\u00a0Golden Globe Award\u00a0and an\u00a0Academy Award.<\/p>\n
Born in Vietnam, Quan immigrated to the United States as a child. As a child actor, he rose to fame playing\u00a0Short Round\u00a0in\u00a0Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom\u00a0(1984) and Data in\u00a0The Goonies\u00a0(1985). Following a few roles as a young adult in the 1990s, he took a 19-year acting hiatus, during which he worked as a stunt choreographer and assistant director.<\/p>\n
Quan returned to acting with the family adventure film\u00a0Finding \u02bbOhana\u00a0(2021), followed by the critically acclaimed\u00a0Everything Everywhere All at Once\u00a0(2022), a performance that won him various accolades, including the\u00a0Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is the first Vietnam-born actor to win an Academy Award.\u00a0Time magazine named him one of the\u00a0100 most influential people in the world\u00a0in 2023.\u00a0He has since starred in the second season of the\u00a0Disney+\u00a0series\u00a0Loki\u00a0in 2023.<\/p>\n
