Bradley Charles Cooper (born January 5, 1975) is an American actor and filmmaker. He has received\u00a0various accolades, including a\u00a0British Academy Film Award\u00a0and three\u00a0Grammy Awards. In addition, he has been nominated for twelve\u00a0Academy Awards, six\u00a0Golden Globe Awards, and a\u00a0Tony Award. Cooper appeared on the\u00a0ForbesCelebrity 100\u00a0list three times and on\u00a0Time’s list of the\u00a0100 most influential people in the world\u00a0in 2015.\u00a0His films\u00a0have grossed $13\u00a0billion worldwide, and he has been placed in annual rankings of the world’s highest-paid actors four times.<\/p>\n
Cooper began his television and film career in 1999 with a guest role in Sex and the City.\u00a0In 2000, he enrolled in the\u00a0Master of Fine Arts (MFA)\u00a0program at the\u00a0Actors Studio. Shortly after, he made his film debut with a starring role in the comedy\u00a0Wet Hot American Summer\u00a0(2001) and gained some recognition as\u00a0Will Tippin\u00a0in the television series\u00a0Alias\u00a0(2001\u20132006). After his role in the show was demoted, he began to have career doubts; however, he quickly gained additional recognition with a supporting part in the comedy film\u00a0Wedding Crashers\u00a0(2005). Cooper found greater success with the romantic comedy\u00a0Silver Linings Playbook\u00a0(2012), the black comedy\u00a0American Hustle\u00a0(2013), and the war biopic\u00a0American Sniper\u00a0(2014), which he also produced. In 2014, he portrayed\u00a0Joseph Merrick in a\u00a0Broadway\u00a0revival of\u00a0The Elephant Man. He began voicing\u00a0Rocket\u00a0in the\u00a0Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cooper produced, wrote, directed, and starred in the musical romance\u00a0A Star Is Born\u00a0(2018). He won a\u00a0BAFTA Award\u00a0and two Grammys for his contributions to the film’s U.S.\u00a0Billboard\u00a0200\u00a0number-one\u00a0soundtrack\u00a0and its chart-topping lead single “Shallow”. He has since produced the thrillers\u00a0Joker\u00a0(2019) and\u00a0Nightmare Alley\u00a0(2021) and co-wrote and directed the biographical drama\u00a0Maestro\u00a0(2023), in which he also starred as\u00a0Leonard Bernstein.<\/p>\n
