James Platten Vanderbilt\u00a0(born November 17, 1975)\u00a0is an American screenwriter and producer. He is best known for writing the films\u00a0Zodiac\u00a0(2007),\u00a0The Amazing Spider-Man\u00a0(2012) and its\u00a02014 sequel, and\u00a0Independence Day: Resurgence\u00a0(2016). He also co-wrote and produced\u00a0Scream\u00a0(2022) and its\u00a02023 sequel. Vanderbilt also contributed as a producer for several films, including\u00a0The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) and\u00a0Ready or Not\u00a0(2019).<\/p>\n
