David Dastmalchian\u00a0(\/d\u0259st\u02c8m\u0251\u02d0lt\u0283\u0259n\/\u00a0d\u0259st-MAHL-ch\u0259n;\u00a0born July 21, 1975) is an American actor, writer, and producer. He has had supporting roles in a number of\u00a0superhero franchises: he portrayed Thomas Schiff in\u00a0The Dark Knight\u00a0(2008),\u00a0Kurt\u00a0and Veb in the\u00a0Ant-Man\u00a0franchise,\u00a0Abra Kadabra\u00a0in\u00a0the CW’s\u00a0The Flash, and\u00a0Polka-Dot Man\u00a0in\u00a0The Suicide Squad\u00a0(2021).<\/p>\n
Dastmalchian has appeared in three films directed by\u00a0Denis Villeneuve:\u00a0Prisoners\u00a0(2013),\u00a0Blade Runner 2049\u00a0(2017), and\u00a0Dune\u00a0(2021). Although he is best known for his work as a\u00a0character actor, Dastmalchian had leading roles in the 2014 semi-autobiographical film\u00a0Animals, which he wrote, and the 2023 horror film\u00a0Late Night with the Devil, which he produced. He is also set to portray\u00a0Mr. 3 in the\u00a0Netflix series\u00a0One Piece. He has a\u00a0guest appearance\u00a0on the 2025 TV Series\u00a0Dexter: Resurrection.<\/p>\n
