Joaquin Cos\u00edo was born in Nayarit, Mexico. His training as an actor began in 1983 and has continued growing and developing ever since. In 1994, Cos\u00edo wrote his first stage play, titled\u00a0Tomochic: Or the day the world ended, which was awarded the National Literature Prize. Performing in over 50 plays and over 600 live performances, his stage career reached a new milestone in 1999 when he was hand selected to join the National Theater Company. This led Cos\u00edo to make the decision to move to\u00a0Mexico City\u00a0permanently and focus on becoming a full-time actor. He has been working non-stop ever since as one of Mexico’s most respected actors of stage and screen.\u00a0He made his film debut in 2001 in the film\u00a0The Blue Room\u00a0and he has since participated in over 30 feature films and several shorts. Cos\u00edo played a multi-episode role in the\u00a0HBO\u00a0comedy\u00a0Eastbound & Down. He played\u00a0General Medrano, one of the main villains in the\u00a0James Bond film\u00a0Quantum of Solace, and acted alongside\u00a0Benicio del Toro\u00a0in\u00a0Oliver Stone’s gritty thriller,\u00a0Savages.
