David Klein,\u00a0A.S.C.\u00a0(born December 1972) is an American\u00a0cinematographer\u00a0known for working with director\u00a0Kevin Smith\u00a0on the films\u00a0Clerks,\u00a0Mallrats,\u00a0Chasing Amy,\u00a0Clerks II,\u00a0Zack and Miri Make a Porno,\u00a0Cop Out, and\u00a0Red State.<\/p>\n
Klein, a member of the\u00a0American Society of Cinematographers, was the director of photography for\u00a0True Blood\u00a0on\u00a0HBO\u00a0and Homeland\u00a0on\u00a0Showtime. Klein was hired for the latter position beginning with\u00a0Homeland’s third season, taking over cinematographer duties from\u00a0Nelson Cragg, who had served as the series’ director of photography for two seasons.<\/p>\n
In 2020, Klein served as the cinematographer on an episode of\u00a0The Mandalorian, “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” directed by\u00a0Robert Rodriguez.\u00a0He also served as cinematographer on multiple episodes of\u00a0The Book of Boba Fett.<\/p>\n
